Introduction
A foundational movement drill that trains players to take a controlled step and immediately stabilize their posture, improving balance and marker steadiness.
Key Points
- Builds balance during small directional steps.
- Trains immediate stabilization after movement.
- Improves weight shift awareness.
- Supports later movement while aiming drills.
- Reduces excessive upper body sway after stepping.
Details
This drill teaches players how to stabilize their body immediately after taking a small step. During gameplay, sudden movements can cause the marker to sway or posture to collapse. This drill corrects those issues by reinforcing controlled footwork.
Players choose a small step direction forward, backward, or lateral and take a measured step. Immediately afterward, they settle into a stable stance, checking elbow alignment, shoulder positioning, and marker stability.
The focus is not on speed but on the quality of stabilization. If the upper body continues to sway or the marker drifts, players adjust their step size or weight distribution.
Repeating this drill improves coordination between lower body motion and upper body mechanics, forming the basis for more complex movement based training.
