Introduction
A coordination and conditioning drill that teaches players how to move the marker using correct joint sequencing shoulder first, elbow second, wrist last for smooth and stable handling.
Key Points
- Improves joint sequencing awareness.
- Creates smoother mechanical transitions.
- Reduces abrupt or inefficient movements.
- Strengthens multi joint control.
- Supports all movement and precision drills.
Details
Many new players move the marker using the wrong joint hierarchy often leading with the wrists or elbows. This drill reinforces correct sequencing: the shoulder initiates movement, the elbow guides the motion, and the wrist performs fine adjustments.
Players begin by isolating each joint: moving only the shoulder while keeping the elbows and wrists still, then only the elbow, and then only the wrist. After isolating each joint, they perform slow, multi joint transitions following the correct sequence.
This develops smooth, predictable movement patterns and prevents jerky or inconsistent handling.
This sequencing awareness improves mechanical control in nearly all movement based drills.
