Introduction
A precision refinement drill that trains players to make very small path corrections along a defined visual line, improving control over minor deviations without causing overcorrection.
Key Points
- Strengthens micro-correction accuracy.
- Improves fine-motor path discipline.
- Reduces abrupt adjustments during alignment.
- Teaches controlled deviation recovery.
- Supports advanced precision tracking.
Details
This drill refines a player's ability to correct small deviations along a controlled path. Players choose a straight visual line horizontal, vertical, or diagonal and glide the marker along it at a slow pace.
As the marker drifts slightly above or below the line, players apply pinpoint micro-corrections to return to the reference path. The focus is using minimal wrist or elbow movement rather than large corrections.
Players should monitor whether their shoulders or torso shift unintentionally. Any full-body movement indicates they are compensating incorrectly rather than using the proper fine-motor joints.
Repeating this drill builds the ability to maintain stable alignment even when small disruptions occur critical for future advanced precision work.
